Forms, search and exits

Forms

Every form on your site: how many visitors start it, send it or give up, and the field they were at when they left. That field is usually the one to shorten, explain or remove.

  • It works with any form on the page, not only forms built with Unyson+. Search forms are left out.
  • A form is counted as abandoned only when the visitor really leaves the page, not when they switch tabs.
  • What is typed is never read or recorded. Only which field was in use.

Switch it off under Settings → Form analytics.

What visitors search for on your site, and the searches that find nothing. Searches with no results are your to-do list: a missing page, a product you do not stock, or a word your content does not use.

Email addresses and long numbers are removed from search terms before they are stored. Only the first page of results counts, so paging through results does not count twice.

This covers the WordPress site search. Switch it off under Settings → Site search.

Clicks on links that leave your site, and on files such as PDFs, ZIPs and documents, counted per address.

Exit links and downloads, each counted per address

Use it to see which partner links get clicked, or whether anyone opens that price list. The address is kept without its query string, so tracking tags do not split one link into many.

These clicks also end a visit's path under Visitor paths. Switch it off under Settings → Exit links and downloads.
